    AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), is continuing to make progress to restore power to its customers affected by Thursday’s devastating storm.     AES Indiana files to save customers approximately 16.5%, or $23.09 monthly, due to lower fuel prices

    AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) announced today that it has recently filed its quarterly Fuel Adjustment Charge (FAC) with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC). The FAC filing reflects expected falling fuel prices which will lower a typical residential customer bill by approximately $23.09 per month. This is the second consecutive decrease AES Indiana has filed with the IURC resulting in a decrease in customer bills.

    AES Indiana received approval for a decrease in its Fuel Adjustment Charge
    AES Indiana received approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for its quarterly Fuel Adjustment Charge (FAC). AES Indiana customers will see an FAC decrease (as compared to the FAC currently in effect) of $6.58 per 1,000 kwh – approximately 4% of the base bill – beginning March 2023. This decrease will go into effect for the March billing period, which will begin with the February 28 meter reads and it will impact customers on their March, April and May bills.

    AES Indiana offers customers resources and energy efficient tips to help with high winter bills

    AES Indiana is offering customers resources and tools to understand and manage high winter energy bills. Fuel costs are among the factors impacting customer bills. Prices for natural gas and coal have incrementally increased over the past year and continue to add to customers' bills. Last month's cold temperatures and the Fuel Adjustment Charge (FAC) that AES Indiana is required to file quarterly have also placed additional financial pressure on customer bills this season. AES Indiana does not earn a profit on these rates.

    The IURC approves the settlement involving AES Indiana’s Eagle Valley Generating Station

    AES Indiana, and various consumer parties, reached a unanimous settlement involving the forced outage of Eagle Valley Combined Cycle Gas Turbine, April 2021 to March 2022. As part of the comprehensive settlement, AES Indiana agreed not to recover $21 million of the $41.5 million deferred costs and will off-set an additional $6.8 million to customers in future rates. Additionally, the Company agreed that it will not earn a return on the outage repair costs in future rate cases.

    Today, AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE :AES) was announced as an Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Emergency Response Award recipient for its mutual assistance in the wake of Hurricane Ian. Presented to EEI member companies twice a year, the Emergency Response Awards recognize recovery and assistance efforts of electric companies following service disruptions caused by extreme weather or other natural events.
