    AES Indiana adds to its customer leadership team as the company remains focused on new solutions for customers

    AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), announced today the hiring of two longtime leaders who have joined the customer service team. Both are focused on helping lead and accelerate efforts in Indiana and Ohio and dedicated to finding new and innovative solutions to help customers achieve their most important objectives of reliability, affordability and sustainability.

    Jim Staton

    Jim Staton, former interim commerce secretary and senior vice president and chief business development officer at the Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC) joins AES as its Economic Development Lead. Staton will focus on managing the funnel of commercial and industrial customer opportunities and facilitate a three-way growth collaborative, including strategic accounts and portfolio leads for AES Indiana and Ohio. Staton joined the IEDC in 2005 and most recently oversaw the organization’s domestic and international business expansion and attraction efforts. Prior to being selected to lead global business development activity in 2018, Staton served in several economic development-focused roles at the IEDC, including vice president of business development, director of business development for the Central and Northwest Indiana regions, and as business recruitment director for North America. Staton is a graduate of Ball State University.

    Tony Brown

    Tony Brown joins AES US Utilities as its Leader of Commercial Accounts Lead, where he will oversee Indiana and Ohio Strategic Account Organizations. Brown will shape the utilities business accounts and relationship strategy. Prior to joining AES, he held senior commercial roles for OneAmerica, Kinetrex Energy and Dow Chemical. Brown has a significant amount of experience in both sales and marketing in both B2B and B2C segments. Brown is a graduate of Earlham College and completed his MBA at the IU Kelley School of Business.
