AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), will celebrate Arbor Day, Friday, April 29, by sponsoring the annual Indy Free Tree event to support ongoing sustainability efforts. AES Indiana will give away 800 trees on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited to one per family. Since 2008, AES Indiana has worked with community partners on Arbor Day to give away 11,000 trees.

AES Indiana encourages individuals who receive a free tree during the event to download the Right Tree Right Place brochure for tips to plan smart with utilities in mind.
AES Indiana is dedicated to working with the city of Indianapolis and other organizations to foster the preservation and protection of natural resources. In addition to Indy Free Tree, AES Indiana sponsors events and programs like Earth Day Indiana, AES Indiana Mayor’s Lunch for Parks, AES Indiana Project Greenspace and AES Indiana Trees for Tomorrow.
For the ninetieth year, AES Indiana is recognized as a Tree Line USA utility. Tree Line USA utilities must meet certain standards—training employees in quality tree-care practices, educating the public about planting trees for energy conservation and helping homeowners plant appropriate trees near utility lines—to be considered for the award.
