AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), invites the public to take part in its integrated resource planning process to help define the future of energy in Central Indiana. AES Indiana will host the first of five public meetings Monday, January 24 to share more about the development of its Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) and solicit feedback.

The January meeting will be held virtually and will recap the 2019 IRP short-term action plan, introduce the IRP process, review the IRP load forecast and highlight key dates and topics for the 2022 IRP.

WHAT: AES Indiana IRP Public Advisory Meeting #1

    WHEN: January 24, 2022, 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

WHERE: Virtual; RSVP to attend at

Every three years, AES Indiana submits an IRP to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) that identifies a forward-looking 20-year portfolio of generation that provides safe, reliable and affordable energy to our more than 512,000 customers. The plan considers potential risks and key stakeholder input. By taking a 20-year look at its resource portfolio, AES Indiana can account for all factors to determine reasonable least-cost options for energy storage and generation.

The IRP process is designed to consider various generation resource scenarios that could be used to serve AES Indiana customers. As part of the IRP process, AES Indiana is evaluating all aspects of its energy storage and generation with key stakeholders to ensure the most cost-effective reliable options for its customers.

AES Indiana will host five public meetings to discuss the IRP process and solicit feedback from the public to shape scenarios, develop metrics and clarify data. The IRP public advisory process will begin January 2022. AES Indiana anticipates submitting its IRP to the IURC in Q4 2022.
