INDIANAPOLIS—Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), reports crews have nearly completed restoration for approximately 45,000 customers affected by Friday's storms, which produced heavy rains, high winds and lightning. Final repairs will continue through Monday for a small group of customers on the northeast side of Indianapolis where severe damage was caused to equipment. A total of 460 people including IPL crews, contractors and mutual assistance crews from neighboring utilities have worked around the clock to restore power. IPL thanks its customers who were without power this weekend for their patience and understanding.
If any customers are still without power at this hour, carefully check for blown fuses or confirm your circuit breaker is in the "on" position. If there are no apparent problems, please call 317.261.8111.
