AES Indiana energy efficiency program Opt-In Form

 

Please complete this form to notify AES Indiana if your eligible AES Indiana Services, which were previously opted out, will resume participation in AES Indiana’s Energy Efficiency (EE) Programs. A Qualifying Customer may opt back in effective the following billing cycle by requesting such opt-in at least five (5) days prior to the next billing cycle. Requests to opt-in received less than five business days prior to the next billing cycle will be effective one month later. Definitions

DSM Rate Adjustment Factor: Mechanism utilized by utilities to collect Energy Efficiency Program Costs. Energy Efficiency (EE) Program: A program sponsored by an electricity supplier or a third-party implementer designed to implement energy efficiency improvements (as defined in 170 IAC 4-8-1(j)) for customers.

Energy Efficiency (EE) Program Costs: Program costs approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC), including reconciliation of such costs. Qualifying Customer: Receives service at a Single Site constituting more than one megawatt of electric demand from an electric supplier.

Qualifying Load: A Single Site with at least one Service constituting more than one megawatt of electric demand from an electric supplier for any month within the previous 12 months prior to the Qualifying Customer’s opt-out notification to AES Indiana. This shall be measured with a demand meter.

Single Site: A Single Site shall be defined as contiguous property.

 

By opting in, the applicable DSM Rate Adjustment Factor(s) contained in Standard Contract Rider No. 22 will be charged for each AES Indiana Service located at a Single Site with Qualifying Load. These Services/Sites will be eligible to participate in AES Indiana’s EE Program effective with the next billing cycle, if received (5) days prior to the cycle or the following month if less than (5) days prior to the cycle upon receipt of your notice to AES Indiana and for a period of at least three years.   • For each qualifying Single Site, list all AES Indiana Services that were previously opted out.

  • AES Indiana may be required to provide the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission with a list of those industrial or large commercial customers that have opted in to participation.

  • Once you opt back in to the Energy Efficiency Program, you must participate for at least three (3) years after the date on which you opt back in and may only opt out effective January 1 of the year following the third year of participation. If you opt out again before the end of the three-year period, you remain liable for and must continue to pay rates that include the Energy Efficiency Program Costs.

We hereby notify AES Indiana of our election, pursuant to Ind. Code 8-1-8.5-9(g), to participate in any AES Indiana EE program at our eligible site(s). We understand we must participate in the EE Program for at least three (3) years after the date on which our opt in commences and that if we terminate participation in any AES Indiana EE Program during the three year period, we shall be responsible for EE Program Costs for the remainder of the three year period.
