All independent third parties with a need to use customer data for purposes outside of the electric services provided by AES Indiana’s regulated utilities must submit a Summarized Energy Data Request.  The following parameters apply to summarized data requests:

  • If your request includes multiple properties, a separate request must be submitted for each property.
  • Historical energy data can be provided for a 13-month period.
  • If specific meter level data is needed, signed account holder release forms must be collected by the requesting party and provided to AES Indiana before any data can be released.  The request fulfillment timeline will not begin until all required consent forms have been received and verified.
     

Upon receipt of the completed AES Indiana Summarized Data Request Form (and other associated documentation,) the requesting party will be invoiced for this service charged at the rate of $10 per meter, with a minimum charge of $100, and a maximum charge of $5,000, plus a payment processing fee which is $.30 per transaction plus 2.9% of the data request fee. The requested data can generally be provided within 4-6 weeks of receipt of the completed request form and payment in full. No refunds will be given for services rendered.

Requesting parties must complete the following steps:

  • Requesting party must download and complete the AES Indiana Summarized Data Request Form and provide a Building Owner Authorization Form.
    • A Building Owner Authorization Form is required to receive summarized data for a property and should consist of the following:
      • Be on the owning entity’s letterhead
      • Include the name of the owning entity and contact information
      • Include the date of the authorization
      • Include the name and address of the property for which data is being requested
      • Indicate whether the requesting party is the building owner, employee of the building owner, or a third-party representing the building owner and authorized to receive the requested information.
      • Include the name and contact information of the entity who is being authorized to receive this information
      • Include the type and date range of the data the entity is being authorized to receive.
      • Include name, signature and contact information of individual authorizing this request.
         
    • If specific meter level data is being requested, the requesting party is responsible for obtaining written permission from the account holder for that meter.  This written permission must be provided to AES and must contain the following information:
      • Account holder name
      • Account holder contact number
      • Account number
      • Service address
      • Dates for which data is being requested
      • Type of data being requested (e.g., monthly energy use)
      • Effective date of the authorization (note that a new authorization will be required each time data is requested)
      • Date and signature of account holder
         
  • Review the Energy data request terms and conditions. Check the box below to accept them. Then, upload the completed AES Indiana Summarized Data Request Form, Building Owner Authorization Form and any applicable Account Holder Release Forms.
     
  • Requests with missing, incomplete, incorrectly formatted, or inaccurate information will be returned to the requesting party so that corrections can be made.
     
  • After all completed forms have been received and found to be in good order, requesting party will be emailed an invoice for the payment due. The work to fulfill the data request will not begin until payment has been received in full.
     
  • Please allow 4-6 weeks for request to be fulfilled following receipt of payment.

All forms should be completed accurately with all required information. Missing, incomplete, or incorrect information may delay the fulfillment of the request.
