AES Indiana EEI Receives Emergency Assistance Award for Supporting Power Restoration Efforts Across the Midwest

AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), has been named a recipient of the Edison Electric Institute's (EEI) Emergency Assistance Award, recognizing the company's exceptional support of fellow utilities through mutual assistance efforts following major weather-related outages.

The award honors AES Indiana crews who answered the call to assist both AES Ohio and Consumers Energy, helping restore power safely and quickly for thousands of customers impacted by severe storms and other disruptive events.

Presented annually to EEI member companies, the Emergency Assistance Award recognizes utilities that provide critical personnel, equipment, and expertise to assist neighboring electric companies during emergencies.

While mutual assistance helps restore power after major events, AES Indiana's long-term investments are aimed at making outages less frequent and shorter in duration. Through its ongoing Smart Grid investment, the company has deployed advanced technology and automation that allows operators to identify, isolate, and reroute power around damaged equipment more quickly, improving reliability for customers throughout central Indiana.
