IPL named 2016 Utility Customer Champion

INDIANAPOLIS—Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), was named a 2016 Utility Customer Champion by Market Strategies International’s Cogent Reports’ study, Utility Trusted Brand & Customer EngagementTM: Residential. Utility Customer Champions were chosen based on survey responses from more than 50,000 residential customers from 130 U.S. electric and natural gas utility companies.

The study placed IPL among 14 other electric utilities achieving the Customer Champion status. Factors considered in the study include Brand Trust, Operational Satisfaction, and Product Experience, all of which are factored into the Overall Engaged Customer Relationship (ECR) Strength score.

In November 2016, IPL was also recognized for the second year in a row as a recipient of the 2016 ReliabilityOneTM Award for Outstanding Midsize Utility by PA Consulting Group. Awards are given to utilities that excel in delivering reliable energy to their customers and is based primarily on system reliability statistics that measure the frequency and duration of customer outages.
